Google Chrome Freezes once daily following Windows 10 Pro Creator's Update

Reported by fa6...@gmail.com, May 11 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version : <Copy from: 'about:version'>
URLs (if applicable) : n/a
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari:
    Firefox: OK
         IE:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Allow Microsoft to install Windows 10 Pro Creator's Edition (Version 1703, OS Build 15063.296) over Windows 10 Pro Version 1607 (unknown build number)
(2) Cold boot every morning between 7:00 and 9:00
(3) Open Google Chrome
(4) Browse for about 2-3 hours

What is the expected result?
Smoothly running computer, just as I've enjoyed since January, 2013, beginning with Windows 8, then Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro, and Windows 10 Pro through Version 1607.

What happens instead?
Regardless of the number of tabs open, the Chrome window becomes unresponsive, and very quickly (a few seconds) the entire computer locks up. Ctrl-Alt-Del won't bring up the inner ring menu where I would normally be able to use Task Manager to force shut-down Chrome.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

Computer Basic Information:
(1) Processor: Intel Cor i5-3210M
(2) RAM: 8 GB
(3) OS: 64-bit Windows 10 Pro
(4) Domain? NO

Extensions:
(1) uBlock Origin 1.12.1
(2) uBlock Origin Extra 2.23
(3) Cool Clock 3.3.1
(4) MySMS/Text from Computer 0.9.4

Antivirus/Firewall:
(1) Norton Security 22.9.1.12

Other Programs:
(1) The usual assort of various programs. Absolutely none of them have ever given me problems like this daily lockup even though I've been using them for years.

As for contact info, fa6165@gmail.com works, too, but I only answer it once a month.

Does the daily freezing occur if you switch to the 32-bit build of Chrome - assuming you're currently using the 64-bit build ?

Does Canary cause freezing ?

Why would I ever want to switch to the 32-bit of Chrome? We're moving
forward, not in reverse. Since the problem exists in the 64-bit version,
and since that's the present (and future), that's what needs to be fixed.

I have no idea what "Canary" is.

As of this writing, the problem no longer exists. It disappeared with one
of the Chrome updates from last summer (2017).

Thank you for your work towards finding and fixing the problem.
