Bisected. The culprit is a new version of V8: https://codereview.chromium.org/2859273003 Will give V8 folks a heads-up.

Hi V8 team, Not sure if you have noticed it. But the new uprev of V8 6.0.157 seems to cause some performance loss. I'm from ChromeOS performance team. We continuously run performance benchmark on ChromeOS devices, and found a 4% ~ 5% regression for the benchmark "octane". Do you think it's expected or some action needs to be taken on it ?

This is a dupe of bug 718820. Yep, it's known, and we have a bug filed.
