I am experiencing a similar issue. Unfortunately the behavior does not happen for me in the given fiddle, but it does occur on our web page. I have not been able to create a fiddle to reproduce it yet. Some things that may help in tracking down the issue: Adding "z-index: 1" to the element fixes it. Removing the transition effect fixes it. Toggling the transformX while the element is still in the middle of the transition from the previous toggle fixes it. System details: Google Chrome 58.0.3029.96 (Official Build) (64-bit) Revision 2a03c99a5f45c6d507af8eb2345ad68a565d1518-refs/branch-heads/3029@{#787} OS Linux JavaScript V8 5.8.283.37 Flash 25.0.0.148 /home/jaredneil/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/25.0.0.148/libpepflashplayer.so User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.96 Safari/537.36

Tested the issue on Mac retina 10.12.4 using M58 #58.0.3029.110 and issue is reproduced and issue is fixed on latest canary M60 #60.0.3100.0 Provided the reverse bisect using per-revision-bisect script, Good build: 59.0.3050.0 (Revision: 459323). Bad build: 59.0.3048.0 (Revision: 458590). You are probably looking for a change made after 458906 (known good), but no later than 458907 (first known bad). CHANGELOG URL: The script might not always return single CL as suspect as some perf builds might get missing due to failure. https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/a0ca178033ce1a45919921fa67a050b808d706de..463b2dfe64df899fda4359f2d360ee1cba46e26b From the CL above, assigning the issue to the concern owner @wkorman- Could you please merge the fix to M58. Note : Issue is specific to Max retina and is not reproduced on mac sierra. Thanks!
