chrome won't allow modification to url

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. open any website
2. modify url from url bar
3. chrome will search on Google

What is the expected behavior?
open url

What went wrong?
search on google is unexpected.
you can't visit https://‎stackoverflow.com from url bar.

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 60.0.3087.3  Channel: dev

Thanks for your report! Are you not able to type stackoverflow.com in the url bar? Can you provide the device model?
