Flexbox layout issue with textNode children only containing whitespace

Reported by daniel.p...@gmail.com, May 10 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.110 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a container with display: flex
2. Add multiple textNode children, one including just whitespace

What is the expected behavior?
All textNodes should be displayed

What went wrong?
The textNode just containing whitespace is not displayed

Did this work before? N/A

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 58.0.3029.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.4
Flash Version:

Also tested in Firefox and Safari, both of which handle this correctly.

The textNodes are created by a rendering framework (Blaze).

Yes, per https://drafts.csswg.org/css-flexbox/#flex-items this is a bug because the contiguous run of text should be wrapped together in an anon flex item.

But this is a duplicate of bug 249573
