Chrome updater is working successfully, got auto updated to latest version - 58.0.3029.110 and able to launch without any error. This version is currently rolling out as small %,so you will be receiving it soon.I used a client server environment with the client logged in as non-admin. Do you have any malware or any 3-rd part applications installed? Contact the admin, assuming some policy might be enforced. What are the platforms that you are seeing the issue? Please check the above and update the thread. Looping to installer folks aswell.

It would help to see a Process Monitor (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/processmonitor.aspx) log of this happening. Does it happen when chrome launches, or only when visiting chrome://help? Is it only on Windows 7, or also on Windows 8 or 10? Thanks.

Reply to comment 6 : This happens to all platforms Windows 7 , 8 and 10. Our Network is restricted and the users have limited access to the Systems. However we haven't seen any issues prior to the update v58.0.3029.96. I am furnishing few test scenarios we have performed w.r.t the update: 32 Bit machine - 32 Bit Chrome 1) Logged in as Admin and run the update : Works fine for both Admin and Standard users 2) Logged in as Standard user and run the update : Errors for user and works for Admin 3) Once Admin login and launch chrome , thereafter chrome launches fine for all users Error:The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action Path to setup.exe: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\58.0.3029.96\Installer 64 Bit machine - 32 Bit Chrome: 1) Logged in as Admin and run the update : Works fine for both Admin and Standard users 2) Logged in as Standard user and run the update: Errors for user and works for Admin 3) Once Admin login and launch chrome , thereafter chrome launches fine for all users The update converts Chrome 32-Bit to 64 Bit in both cases (Run as Admin or Standard User) Error:The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action Path to setup.exe C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\58.0.3029.96\Installer

Hi Team, We were able to workaround the issue by following the below steps: • User GPO -> Google Chrome Advanced -> Application Locale Set this from Blank or En_gb to just En Could you review this as no more errors are reported after changing the language to EN.We have tested this in different networks and all seems to work. Thanks, Sudeep
