Restrict candidate address profile to those who name match name in card |
|||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: tip of head OS: All What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Create local address profile with name like "Jane Doe". (2) Create local address profile with name like "John". (3) Create local credit card profile with name like "Jane Doe". (4) Sign-in to Chrome (5) Visit https://dump-truck.appspot.com/usecase-address_then_cc/address.html (6) Select address profile "Jane Doe" (7) Select address profile "John" (8) Navigate to the CC form and select credit card profile "Jane Doe" What is the expected result? Offer to save credit card to server. What happens instead? We do not offer to save card because names do not match. This is unlikely to be a significant issue now because we restrict address profiles to those that were used or modified in last 15 minutes. But this could become likely if we expand address profiles.

Going to close this issue as I don't know what it's quite referring to. On the surface, it seems correct: If the address was "John" and the credit card was "Jane", that's a mismatch, and not offering to save is the intended result. Otherwise, I feel there's a chance this is a duplicate of Issue 706914.

I think the idea was to restrict the candidate profiles to only the ones that match the name of the card. So if for example in the last 15 minutes I used Jane Doe profile and Homer Doe profile. But then I fill a cc form with a card for Homer Doe, Homer Doe would have a chance to be a candidate profile, but not Jane.

Oh, thanks Sébastien, that makes more sense. That's an interesting feature request, having upload save consider certain sets of data to be irrelevant and ignoring it. Will reset to Untriaged.
