Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.96 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://www.garmin.cz/files/documents/pr%C3%A9miov%C3%BD%20sn%C3%ADma%C4%8D%20tepov%C3%A9%20frekvence.pdf Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to https://www.garmin.cz/files/documents/pr%C3%A9miov%C3%BD%20sn%C3%ADma%C4%8D%20tepov%C3%A9%20frekvence.pdf or open "prémiový snímač tepové frekvence.pdf" (attached). What is the expected behavior? Display text correctly (see pdf_evince.png) What went wrong? Some characters overlap (see the attached pdf_chrome.png), which does not happen in another pdf viewer (Evince, see pdf_evince.png). It seems that only some of the czech characters display the unwanted behavior. Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 58.0.3029.96 Channel: stable OS Version: 4.10.13 Flash Version: not installed

Correcting label, but I'm not sure if this is a regression.

Actually I was unable to reproduce on my Stable 57.0.2987.133, Beta 58.0.3029.41 or Dev 59.0.3053.3. But I'm not on 58 stable yet for some reason, so maybe someone who's on that can try repro.

The procedure shown in the screencast is correct and displays expected pdf rendering. The Chrome version details differ slightly, screenshot attached. Details of the instalation package for my distro can be found here: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/chromium/

Ok, finally able to test on 58 Stable, and still not able to reproduce. Can you confirm if this is still a problem on 58.0.3029.110? If it is, could you try updating your system freetype, and see if that fixes the issue?

The hint with freetype worked, together with this info: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/docs/linux_build_instructions.md#Arch-Linux The document is displayed correctly after installing ttf-ms-fonts (with no need to rebuild Chrome). Thanks, everyone!
