Profile switcher should open new window, not switch to existing window |
||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 59.0.3071.36 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) OS: Ubuntu 14.04 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Set up two user profiles (2) Open one window for each profile on the first virtual desktop (3) Move to the second virtual desktop (4) Open Chrome from the launcher (or by running google-chrome-beta) (5) Click the user switcher (top right of title bar), select the other user account What is the expected result? A new window is opened for the selected user account on the current virtual desktop. What happens instead? It switches to the existing window on the first virtual desktop. I'm using XFCE if that makes a difference.

Thanks for your feedback. The fact that the profile switcher opens the last used window of a currently open profile (as opposed to opening a new profile) is WAI. The profile switcher is meant to be used as a way to quickly switch between multiple active profiles, and the most common use case for doing so is switching between currently open windows. Sorry if this doesn't satisfy your particular use case! Marking this as WontFix, WAI. |
