Hey John, Could this be related to your CL (1)? Looking through the logs I don't see anything else jump out. Thanks in advance. (1) - https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/a14a834fbf75248948031bb240c10c5494972432 P.S. For those watching on the issue, I'm setting the pri/mstone because this appears to be a reproducible hang.

I doubt it. My change simply added a pointer check before calling dispose() on that pointer, so it avoids a crash if a plugin fails to load. The original change that added the call to dispose() was added in 432258, which is before the bisect range. If that is causing the problems I would have expected the bisect range to show it. Plus the fix was merged into M56, so I'm surprised that this is just showing up in M59. Since the bisect range is for M57, does this repro on M57 or M58? If the test has been run on those releases (and passes), then it looks like the bisect is wrong. I can't access the site listed, so I can't see what happens.

Two quick follow-ups. - Does this issue only appear on MacOS? - Is there anything special about the embed (i.e. will the following snippet work for our test team)? <body> <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="AS_SetFullYearAdvanced_a.swf"> <param name="movie" value="AS_SetFullYearAdvanced_a.swf"/> <a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash"> <img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player"/> </a> </object> </body>

Yes, the hang occurs on MacOS only. Tested on Windows and it does not happen. There is nothing special about the embed.

Newly run build-bisect results: You are probably looking for a change made after 423772 (known good), but no later than 423780 (first known bad). CHANGELOG URL: https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/80e6cf8d1fa064239b919bd111dc9304209dc9d3..84c65c96975778e8b4f4207612be68f2c7d39a99

Timothy, could you take a look. Perhaps related to this CL(1) that's in the range. (1) - https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/483abaf5253f6e4864914f7824142995a51d8254
