Frequent renderer crashes in 60.0.3080.5 with "add link" dialog in GMail

Project Member Reported by rbyers@chromium.org, May 4 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version : 60.0.3080.5
OS Version:
URLs (if applicable) : mail.google.com

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select some text while composing an e-mail in GMail
2. Hit Ctrl-K

What is the expected result?
Expect not to crash

What happens instead of that?
About 1 in 5 times renderer crashes. But when a specific situation will provoke a crash, it tends to ALWAYS provoke a crash each time I retry.

Sadly something seems broken with crash symbols on Linux right now, so all the crash reports are pretty useless. Here are some of my recent crash IDs:
6199629e80000000
b625629e80000000
a5f1629e80000000
fb45629e80000000
08a87eb350000000
828796d8b0000000
ca78409e80000000

UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/60.0.3080.5 Safari/537.36

I know I should try to download the official symbols and get a proper crash stack myself, but that's such a pain and I don't have time right now.

Based on the manual repro scenario this looks similar to Issue 715107(C#1) and should be fixed on the latest M-60.

Regarding crash symbols on Linux this is tracked in Issue 716484
