Renderer crashes when opening hangouts

Issue descriptionChrome Version: 60.0.3084.0 OS: Win10 What steps will reproduce the problem? navigate to hangouts.google.com What is the expected result? Hangouts should open. What happens instead? A empty white box opens and then the system crashes. Please use labels and text to provide additional information. The empty white box has those little dots at the bottom like you get for those first-time-opened tutorials, so I wonder if it might be connected to something like that. For graphics-related bugs, please copy/paste the contents of the about:gpu page at the end of this report.

Ken or Lucas, mind taking a look? This looks to be an issue with DCHECKs in compositor code.

Error occurs only when logged in. Going to hangouts without being logged in does not trigger the crash (white box also doesn't appear).

I haven't been able to repro (Windows 10, ToT, debug build). Is there anything missing from the instructions? Have you been able to repro on different machines?

I have now tried to run it on a full chrome build. Additional steps: build chrome/chromium on windows open from the console navigate to hangouts.google.com sign in via the button at the top right corner White box with rounded corners appears App crashes I have only had this happen on my windows 10 build. My linux build works fine. Capture1.png shows the crash on my windows 10 build, Capture2.png shows what happens on my linux build. Also, on a full chrome build, this error appears in the logs: https://paste.googleplex.com/6116213868462080 It only sometimes appears as a pop up when the crash occurs, but appears pretty consistently in the logs. I'm not sure if it's the cause or an effect of the crash.

Following those instructions on a fresh Windows 10 build I still am unable to repro. Do you have any extensions installed, or are there any non-default flags set? It might be useful if you could make sure that it repros with a clean profile.

The only extensions I have installed are those that come with chrome. I tried it on the canary build, and could not get the bug to repo. As that is the case, I am marking the bug as WontFix, and will reopen it if and when more information becomes available. |
