[MD-Settings] When you open the menu the first time, the position is not highlighted

Chrome Version: 60.0.3087.0 Canary
OS: MacOS 10.12.4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Start Chrome
(2) Go to MD-Settings 
(3) Click on the Hamburger Menu Icon 

What is the expected result? What happens instead?
When the menu opens the first time, the position in the menu is not blue highlighted.

Not sure if this is intentional.

@mehmet this is intentional. We only update the sidenav when the user explicitly navigates to a section, either via URL or by clicking a sidenav item.

We talked about updating the selected item based on the scroll position, but that gets complicated and we couldn't find a solution that would work in all cases.
