Inconsistent behavior with screen readers reading file names of images with empty alt text |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issue descriptionOS: Mac OS When an image has alt="", the behavior is different depending on the screen reader and browser combination. Empty alt text is expected to be ignored by screen readers, but VoiceOver/Chrome, Talkback/Chrome, and ChromeVox Next read out the file name. Looks like the accessibility tree in Chrome exposes the AXDescription as the filename That said, VoiceOver/Firefox reads out "image"; and VoiceOver/Safari, JAWS/Chrome, and NVDA/Chrome behave as expected. |
