Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.81 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Try to save a webpage. Right click, Save as, Save. 2. When downloading the webpage, close the browser. You'll see the invisible dialog 3. Only way to get pass to it is to use caret buttons. Down > Right > Enter. The browser is now closed What is the expected behavior? It should always show the browser's dialog window, at the top. Not invisible or anything What went wrong? The dialog window is always invisble, whether it's a ongoing download prompt, an installation of extention or app from Web store prompt, a message from a site or more. It's always like that since before 2 updates ago. Both Stable and Dev confirmed Did this work before? Yes v56 I think? Chrome version: 58.0.3029.81 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: This bug is really bothering me for a long time now,. It just appears maybe two updates before, and I'm from Dev channel on that time. I thought I Dev really got messed up so I switched for Stable for now, surprisingly the bug is also present there. I searched also finding out some also reported this bug here. So I can confirm this really exist. It's present whenever the browser or the site displays a dialog prompt. Whether it's from a download, a installation of extension or app from Google Chrome Web Store, a site message. Only way you can navigate through this is to use caret keys and enter it. Alt tabbing also won't show the dialog. It's just invisible. I tried everything from reinstalling my browser, but the bug will keep showing up later that day. I can confirm this maybe just present on Windows 10 as I use also latest Chrome versions on Windows 7 from computer cafes and haven't encountered this issue so far. I'm on Windows 10 Creators Update btw. Can't confirm if this is also present on Mac. Or in Canary channel, haven't tried yet and wouldn't mind to do it Here's the captured video with annotations I attached: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B30Z0EQrkw2NbzNjV2ptNnI3ZWs Please see it to fully understand what I'm encountering here and maybe report this to the devs and release an update fixing this in the future. This is really annoying

Unable to reproduce the issue on Win-10 using chrome stable #58.0.3029.96 and latest canary #60.0.3089.0. Attached a screen cast for reference. Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue. ------------ 1. Tried saving yahoo.com by right clicking and save as. 2. During downloading of webpage, closed the browser. 3. Observed a dialog box with buttons "cancel download" and "continue download". 4. Also tried removing few apps from chrome and observed a dialog box with "remove" and "cancel" buttons. iamiansteven@ - Could you please verify the screen cast and please let us know if anything missed from our side. Thanks...!!

Strange. I'm still experiencing it as of Version 58.0.3029.96 (Official Build) (64-bit). I don't really know what's causing this and why this isn't applies to all users. Also I can now confirm that other passive dialogs (dialogs that appears at the top but doesn't block cursor inactivity, so when you click anywhere else it will be gone) too like Webpage security dialog (when you clicked the Lock icon on the address bar), some permissions like webcam, location, microphone dialog permissions, even on simple dialogs like zoom dialog (zoom icon appears at beside Bookmark button when you zoom in or out a webpage)

Okay, now starred forums guys provided an unofficial workaround on this notice by the same users that experiencing this also : https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/EAogmswhT74/v-BuUzKnAQAJ Turns out this just appears to users with old hardware, like me after some newer update release this past months. Told us to disable hardware acceleration for a while to not experience this. But most people still need that hardware acceleration for some browsing performance, even on some users that still rocking an 5 year old hardware like mine. So I want you guys to maybe confirm and pinpoint this issue to old GPUs or the hardware acceleration and maybe finally fix this. I attached two htm file of my chrome://gpu webpage both when Hardware acceleration is on, and off. I can't just copy and paste them in text file, the table and some important info wouldn't be copied and shown properly Compare them and maybe pinpoint or narrow down what could be causing our problem. I'm very happy to help, hoping for a quick fix on this ASAP on the next update

Can anyone still reproduce this with Chrome 59? Otherwise, I'm closing it as a duplicate of a similar-sounding bug that was fixed in Chrome 59. |
