Issue descriptionHi, I'm noticing a privacy related bug wrt Google Chrome for last few weeks and just wanted to report it today here, as I wasn't sure of right platform to report such issues. Even though I'm not connected to any kind of VPN, if I open Google Chrome, the default domain is opening as "Google Turkey". Now if I'm trying to actually connect to a VPN so as to recalibrate the IP Location (Tried connecting to DE, US & HK) and hence Domain, it shows no improvement as Domain is still at Google Turkey. Also tried basic technical troubleshooting such as closing the web browser and reopening it, reconnecting to WiFi, rechanging the IP Location and then reconnecting to WiFi and vice versa & finally restarting the laptop and repeating the aforementioned steps from the very beginning but nothing worked out! Although I'm not sure, but it might be an issue for Google wrt incorporating it's privacy policy religiously against each and everyone of it's billions of the users who use it on regular basis, as well as, it might affect Google whilst targeting it's ads to the relevant audience because their realtime location is not being tracked! Hence it affects the RR model of Google - "Reputation & Revenue"! Hope it helps! :) Thanks! Ashwani Rai ☮ An Enthusiastic Googlemaniac ☮ - ✌ A Well Wisher! ✌

It might also be an issue wrt Chrome Extension not working properly (as VPN gets connected/disconnected instantly and works smoothly without any issue. I use to check my IP Address everytime I connect to VPN ensuring it's working properly), rather than the Google Chrome browser itself.

Apart from affecting the RR Model, it also become a hurdle achieving Google's motto so as to making sure that information remains accurate at all the times, whether locally or universally. Hence, an Indian user is getting relevant search result as per his current vicinity/country and not getting results from a foreign country in the respective foreign language like Turkish in my case.

What does "https://www.google.com/searchdomaincheck?format=domain&type=chrome" returns to you?

www.google.com is blocked

Basically, this is saying you have some Chrome extension installed that is making it impossible for Chrome itself to tell what search domain it should be using. If you disable or remove extensions to the point where you can load that URL, I would expect Chrome to start working well after a restart.

Hi, thanks for your response! So do you think that there might be an issue with Chrome's extension feature itself?

This is probably an issue with one of the installed extensions. Closing this issue as it is old and likely not Chrome's fault.

And that extension is installed on "your Product" and making it "highly vulnerable" returning "ambiguous search results"! Thanks for summarizing my issue as the resolution anyway, that's what Pythagoras did in 6th century BC!! |
