Joint dashboard for all gerrit review instances

Project Member Reported by jochen@chromium.org, Apr 27 2017

Issue description

why is pdfium on pdfium-reviews, but chromium, v8, and depot_tools are all on chromium-reviews?

Is there are a way to get a dashboard of all my reviews (like in the past with rietveld)?

Summary: Joint dashboard for all gerrit review instances (was: why are some gerrit reviews on their own server)
You should ask the PDFium folks why they have their own server, they are the ones who requested that it be set up years ago.

We don't have a solution for having all reviews in one place. Developers already have to check two places (internal and external), and the number of developers who also work on separate hosts like pdfium, aomedia, or skia is relatively small (and for the most part those devs are early adopters of gerrit), so this isn't a high priority.

well, in the past, the review URL wasn't tightly coupled to the git server :/
For the vast majority of folks, who only work on chromium and chrome-internal, it was. Same for when we were on SVN -- the review url was 100% dependent on whether you were committing to internal or external SVN.

I'm sorry that this is no longer true for the folks who contribute to aomedia, pdfium, boringssl, or skia. But developing a joint dashboard is very large amount of effort to do right, and we don't have that effort on hand.

I agree that this would be great to have. That's why I haven't closed it. But I think it is unrealistic to expect this to happen before general changeover for chromium/src.git.

I don't remember requesting it. We were using codereview.chromium.org for PDFium, and the transition to pdfium-review.googlesource.com happened while I was out.

Removing Milestone-Afterglow, as it has ceased to have meaning. More refined milestones may be added back in the near future.

I just asked the Gerrit team about this and it is something that they are working towards in general and it already exists for some repositories (none Chrome) at https://source.cloud.google.com/review. There would be a lot of work to get Chrome hosts / repositories supported there but it's something we can work towards. Though there are definitely not plans to build a unified dashboard that is not hosted on source.cloud.google.com.

This seems like something I should look into more as we work with that org on other related areas like Code Search, etc.
