  space not working correctly

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.81 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
It seems the Brandon Grotesque font   isssue still exist in chrome. 

What is the expected behavior?
It is displaying as a "`".

What went wrong?
It should be displayed.   must be blank space.

Did this work before? No 

Chrome version: 58.0.3029.81  Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.3

I just came across the same issue. It looks like it only happens with the Brandon Grotesque Light (font-weight: 300) font in our case.
