Part of building V8 is to create a snapshot file of the heap. This snapshot is used later at runtime as part of bootstrapping V8. If this build step is skipped, and the snapshot file is out of sync with the V8 binary, the sanity check likely fails, like in issue 714976 . But I don't think this is what's happening though. V8 is not even on the stack. It may have the same root cause as mismatching snapshot though. I could imagine other parts of Chrome breaking if necessary build steps are skipped.

The tab_capture_end2end_test configuration was almost certainly wrong before my fix. It seems likely that we were trying to run things in the wrong configuration. I'll call this fixed, but it was a team effort :). |
