Steps to reproduce the problem:
I've spent the last 1.5 hours looking around for what to do when there is no three-dots icon in Chrome (for Help, print, bookmarks, etc), and trying different things (different accounts, wider window, searching, ...). I couldn't even look for help under the three dots icon :-( I went through all my extensions, wondering if disabling or hiding some would help. Finally, when I got to the last extension, with an unfamiliar red arrow icon - it turns out it wasn't an extension, but rather an icon that was replacing the three dots icon, and that indicated that Chrome should be updated.
(1) Please don't replace the three dots with something that has no visual similarity. Somebody should always be able to find the three dots menu.
(2) Don't assume that people will know what a red arrow means, or that they will notice that. If you want people to know that an upgrade is needed, look for another way
What is the expected behavior?
There should be an obvious three-dots icon.
You could turn it red if an upgrade is needed.
What went wrong?
It was replaced by an icon that looks like all the other extension icons.
Did this work before? N/A
