Manage people doesn't let me edit account labels |
||||
Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: I want to open a Chrome window with another account. Near the top right, just to the left of the minimize, maximize and close buttons, is the account selection button. Unfortunately, two of my accounts are just shown as Tim - so I don't have a way to pick the appropriate account (I entered that as a separate bug, 715741). If I select "Manage people", I get a window that shows different accounts. Three of them are labeled by email addresses, so they're fine, but two are just shown as Tim. If I hover over the picture for one of them I get a three dot menu. Clicking there shows e.g. "Tim email1@gmail.com" (with the actual email). However, the only option is to "Remove this person", which I don't want to do. Instead I want to edit it to change "Tim email1@gmail.com" to "email1@gmail.com". What is the expected behavior? There should be an option to "Edit this person" or "Edit this label". What went wrong? No way to edit. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 57.0.2987.133 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version:

Please reopen this. This continually bugs me. When I need to open a Chrome window with a different account, I don't know which of the various Tim's or "Person 1"s ... to use. So I want to edit the entries, so that the label matches the email address.

I tried deleting entries, then adding them again, giving an informative label based on the email address. But then when I log in with the corresponding email, and then look at Manage People in a Chrome window signed in to a different account, it doesn't use the label I gave, it uses the label "Tim" (the first name in my account). Argh. |
