Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.81 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Gmail in Chrome 2. Create new email 3. Hit Send What is the expected behavior? The email should be sent to the recipient, and the application should return to the inbox. What went wrong? A variety of results may happen... 1. Maybe nothing 2. Sometimes I get the "Sending..." yellow box and it never goes away 3. Sometimes I get the "Still working..." yellow box and eventually a failure Did this work before? Yes Don't know Chrome version: 58.0.3029.81 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: I have tried the following... 1. Deactivate all Chrome extensions 2. Deactivate all Labs in Gmail 3. Delete history, cookies, etc. 4. Re-install Chrome This started last week, and has been a problem on two different laptops. Everything works fine in IE. All other Google apps work fine. This only affects Gmail.

Tested this issue on Win 7 using #58.0.3029.81, and not able to reproduce the issue. Could you please attach a screenshot of your browser's Developer tools console tab for further triage. Thanks,

Thank you for the reply. Here is a screen shot of the console when I load Gmail. Unfortunately, when I try to send an email, nothing happens. No actions, nothing in the console. THe

Attached is the console view showing the page load. That seems to be fine. Once it is loaded, I can often open at least one email, before the interface simply stops responding. I can click, but and the interface seems to know that I clicked but the data are not updated. In the second screen shot of the console, my first click was to send an email. I wrote the email and clicked send. The editor window went away (most times, it just sits there after click) and the email appeared to go. But as you can see, it didn't. Gmail is still trying to send and its not working. I am in IE using Gmail right now, and it works great but I hate IE. :) Note: I tried attaching the images, but in IE that too is no longer working. I have put them in an open drive folder. You should be able to see them here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1Dpv2b7RqcifkFtT0NnQkgxUHlFNm4wZDJTQUFxa0VJbVVSdmQtYW5pQzFzZFRYUE02Nkk?usp=sharing JD.

New profile...sounded like a great idea, but unfortunately it did not help. I have the same issue. I actually have two Gmail accounts, and I tested under both, so the problem does not appear to be related to my account, unless both of my accounts are somehow affected. Its very odd. JD.

I was given a new laptop at work this week, and I am in the process of setting it up. Today I installed Chrome. I log'ed into Gmail, archived a few messages, and then tried to reply to a message. Same problem. So this problem is not specific to my current laptop. It appears to have followed me. Could something be wrong in my profile?

Follow up on this. I've tried doing some testing with Wireshark running. And oddly enough on the new laptop, the problem is not presenting itself now. I am in the process of loading Wireshark on my old laptop to see if I can find something helpful.

Follow up to my last email...I installed WireShark on both laptops. Since I did that, the problems with Gmail have stopped completely. Very odd.

Another follow up...this problem went away from days, and is now back today. Gmail in Chrome loads, lets me execute maybe one action and then stops responding. Only in Chrome. I am sending this email from the same profile, using IE.

I am experiencing the same problem on Mac OS. I can use Gmail for some number of minutes, and then its tab becomes non-responsive. None of my colleagues are experiencing this. I tried a new profile as well, which mitigated the problem for a few hours. Restarting the browser mitigates as well, for a few minutes, then the problem reliably recurs.
