Clicking on zoom buttons breaks scrolling with spacebar

Reported by dch...@gmail.com, Apr 21 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/58.0.3029.81 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a PDF.
2. Click on (+) or (-) to zoom in/out.
3. Press Spacebar.

What is the expected behavior?
Pressing Spacebar should scroll a page down.

What went wrong?
The previous action — zoom — is performed.

Did this work before? Yes not sure, sorry

Chrome version: 58.0.3029.81 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.4
Flash Version:

Looks like clicking on zoom buttons places focus on them, so naturally, spacebar activates them.

Probably accessibility needs to be considered here.

I don't see any scrolling in your screencast, maybe it was cut. But here's mine, where I click on (+), then move mouse away and press Spacebar. Notice it zooms instead of scrolling down. When the zoom button disappears, it actually does scroll down when pressing spacebar (looks like when button hide, the focus returns back to PDF). I used the same PDF as in your screencast.

Thanks for the screen cast.
Able to reproduce the issue on windows 7, Ubuntu 14.04 and Mac 10.12.3 using chrome version 58.0.3029.81 and canary 60.0.3079.0.
This is non regression issue as this is seen from M47 builds where the new zoom layout was introduced.

Could any one from dev team please look into this issue.

This is a PDF HTML/CSS/JS issue and has nothing to do with native browser zoom controls.
