Two-Sided Printing not working with AirPrint

Reported by chancha...@gmail.com, Apr 21 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
I printed to an HP Envy 7640 printer, wirelessly connected, printing from a Google Doc with at least 2 pages

1. Click on the print button on a Google Doc that's at least 2 pages long (or any other website, have not tested on other websites)
2. Check to make sure the Two-Sided printing option is checked
3. Print

What is the expected behavior?
It prints on both sides of one paper

What went wrong?
It ignored the two-sided option and printed single sided

Did this work before? Yes Unknown

Chrome version: 57.0.2987.133 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.12.4
Flash Version: 25.0.0.148

Testing Enviroment:

Printed from Google Docs
2 pages long
Printer is an HP Envy 7640
Printed wirelessly using Apple AirPrint

Update: Still reproduced and confirmed on Chrome Version 58.0.3029.81 (64-bit)

Components: Internals>Printing
Labels: Needs-Feedback
Unable to reproduce the issue on MacBook Air 10.12.4 with chrome #58.0.3029.81 and #60.0.3076.0

Testing Environment:
--------------------
Printed from Google Docs
2 pages long
Printer is an RICOH MP C4503

chancharge@ Could you please re-try the same scenario on clean profile with no apps/extensions and let us know your observations.
I think to test this bug, one needs to have this specific printer.

Did this really work before? Do you remember about when it last worked?
Still able to reproduce on a clean profile. I had an older printer where this reproduced before: HP Photosmart 7510. I do remember this working as normal before, but some update broke this feature for me. A workaround I used is printing using the system dialog.

We are unable to reproduce the issue with "Printer-RICOH MP C4503". Due to "Hardware Dependency" adding MTV team to triage the issue further.
Hence adding the respective label.

Thank You!

Do you have access to another printer, to see if this is a printer-specific issue?

Do you have a USB cable to connect to the printer? Can you try printing over a direct connection? I'm also wondering if this is due to some issue with AirPrint.
Labels: Needs-Feedback
I used to have access to a different printer, but I got rid of it as it died on me and now I have my current and only printer, HP Envy 7640. I do have a usb cable, but I'm unable to connect it to my computer as they are too far apart from each other and I have a desktop. It may be some issue with AirPrint and Chrome, since the two sided option works just fine printing through the system dialog. I will try printing using Google Cloud Print instead, see what happens.
UPDATE: Printing using Google Cloud Print works perfectly fine, it appears to be an issue with AirPrint

Thanks for checking. We'll try out AirPrint and see if we can reproduce the issue with a different HP printer here.
Summary: Two-Sided Printing not working with AirPrint (was: Two-Sided Printing not working)
We found a HP printer that supports Airprint, so we just need to connect it and test this out.
