Issue descriptionDevice name: Pixel XL From "Settings > About Chrome" Application version: Chrome Beta 58.0.3029.70 Operating system: Android 7.1.2; Pixel XL Build/N2G47E URLs (if applicable): https://larsgk.github.io/poly-2-midi Steps to reproduce: (1) goto url and wait for loading finished... Expected result: A canvas in the top of the app painting a live voice graph after asking for microphone permissions. Actual result: Never asked for permission. PS The full app works in the current 'Chrome Dev 59.0.3068.4' on the same device (sampling and playback). Stable works except for the bug fixed in M58 related to playback of audio through WebAudio, recorded with MediaRecorder (my assumption: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=673782 )

Issue could not be reproduced on Pixel XL/7.1.2, Chrome Beta 58.0.3029.70. I get 'largsk.github.io wants to use your microphone' permission prompt. Can you please provide logcat & bugreport for this issue? Thanks.

Ouch - after seeing your finding, I started digging around. It appears that - for some reason - Chrome Beta had lost *all* of it's permissions on an (Android) App level (all were off). I have had Chrome Beta installed earlier and removed it again a few months back - can there be a glitch in App permissions if the same app is installed and e.g. something changed? (I am fairly certain I would always give permissions to chrome to do what it wants (permissions) on play store install (like I did with Chrome Dev, where all worked). After enabling App permissions/Microphone, I can confirm that it also works here. Issue can be closed.

Sorry for the glitch from my side :) - I may owe a beer However, it might be nice with some sort of small indication that the app *itself* does not have permissions if for some reason others end in the same state - without the need to dig through app settings to find it (just a thought). |
