Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Any Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Start 6 downloads on a slow host 2. Attempt to start a 7th download What is the expected behavior? 7th (and 8th, etc.) downloads begin immediately (or are at least queued up) What went wrong? 7th and further downloads stop Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 57.0.2987.133 Channel: stable OS Version: 10.0 Flash Version: This is similar to other issues but I can't comment on them. The reason "Google has tested and 6 (or 7) is the best limit for most users" isn't good enough. This could be in "chrome://flags/" which is not available on the user settings page so the vast majority of users will never even see it, but people that care can search for the answer and use it. My particular problem is wanting to download multiple files from one web site. They are not large, but the site is slow so a 50mb download might take 10 minutes. When wanting to download 15 files, I have to start 6 downloads, wait 10 minutes, start another 6, wait 10 minutes, start the final 3. And while the 6 downloads are going on, browsing the site is disabled as well. This is a particular problem because the new 'card' downloads page doesn't even show 6 items and doesn't move completed items to the top. And 'clear all' which used to be a link button is now hidden under a triple-dot menu so it's even harder to clean up the page and see what is actually downloading. I have to use two clicks to clear all, then scroll to see if there are actually 6 downloads going on to see if I can start a new one. Another option would be to have a notification allowing the user to up the simultaneous connection limit *temporarily* for *one site* if they are experiencing problems. Now it is not immediately clear that the issue is caused by this or if the website is down since the message is very small and obscure.

Sorry, we're not going to change this, for better or for worse. |
