Saving chrome://gpu saves a template page with no data |
|||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: 59.0.3067.0 OS: Linux What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Visit chrome://gpu (2) Wait for the page to finish loading (3) Save the page (4) Load the saved gpu.html What is the expected result? The saved gpu.html should look like chrome://gpu What happens instead? gpu.html is just a template page and missing a lot of content. It's only 4 KB in size, but should be bigger. See example in https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=689616#c13 vs https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=689616#c15

Right, zmo@ says no repro either, but I can on 2 different machines. Let me tinker with this a bit more.

Ah, found the difference. One of the machines here is brand new. In the save as dialog, it default to "Webpage, HTML Only" which triggers the bug. If I change it to "Webpage, Complete" then it saves correctly.

I think this is work as intended?

It's not a very good experience. Shouldn't we at least tell users to select "Webpage, Complete" if they want to save the page?
