[MacViewsBrowser] When switch back to Chrome, tabstrip background update lags

Chrome Version: 60.0.3072.0 (MacViews)
OS: macOS 10.12

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Switch to a different app
(2) Switch back to Chrome

What is the expected result?
Main browser window tabstrip background should update in a short (i.e. not very noticeable amount of time).

What happens instead?
There's a noticeable lag between switching back and the tabstrip redrawing.
