Automatic/custom DNS settings. Ethernet

Project Member Reported by jgodinez@chromium.org, Apr 17 2017

Issue description

Automatic/custom DNS settings. Ethernet

Chrome OS Version: 57.0.2987.146 Stable, 58.0.3029.51 Beta

Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Connect Chrome device via Ethernet.
(2) Access network settings and change Automatic name servers to Google name servers
(3) Change name servers back to Automatic or Custom name servers.

Expected Result:
Chrome OS to return to use Automatic/Custom name servers

Actual Result:
Chrome OS keeps using Google name servers.

How frequently does this problem reproduce?
Always as long as the device is connected to the internet via Ethernet. Unable to reproduce this while connected via WiFi

What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?
User might not notice that Chrome OS is still resolving with Google DNS name servers. Workaround is to use WiFi connectivity
