Automatic/custom DNS settings. Ethernet
Chrome OS Version: 57.0.2987.146 Stable, 58.0.3029.51 Beta
Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Connect Chrome device via Ethernet.
(2) Access network settings and change Automatic name servers to Google name servers
(3) Change name servers back to Automatic or Custom name servers.
Expected Result:
Chrome OS to return to use Automatic/Custom name servers
Actual Result:
Chrome OS keeps using Google name servers.
How frequently does this problem reproduce?
Always as long as the device is connected to the internet via Ethernet. Unable to reproduce this while connected via WiFi
What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?
User might not notice that Chrome OS is still resolving with Google DNS name servers. Workaround is to use WiFi connectivity
