Investigate battor equipped phone charging issue on build16{4,6}-b1

Project Member Reported by pschmidt@chromium.org, Apr 14 2017

Issue description

Device 020035b318aaa86c is not being charged. Probably a damaged/faulty connector

+Vince as he had one repaired recently

Summary: Investigate battor equipped phone charging issue on build166-b1 (was: Investigate battor equipped phone charging issue on build166-b4)
FYI, from Kevin on one of the tickets:

For build166-1 020035b318aaa86c - Device is still 37% battery life after charging it with an wall charger. It's the same battery life as yesterday and the other day. There is a charging icon on the top right inside the battery when it is plugged in.

When I go to the battery settings, it says that the battery is not charging. I did a factory reset just to see if it would charge or show a difference but it did not. I left this device by the computer charging next to the brother P-touch.

I've had the battOr from this phone moved to a brand new phone and it still doesn't charge. The charge symbol would show up but the percentage would stay fixed. I'm thinking it's either the battOr or cable.

benhenry is order new N5X cables. I'm going to try replacing the battOr tomorrow and see if it changes things.
Did you get around to replacing the battor/did it help?

Cause it looks like the same thing happened to 01e0c07890949561 on build164-b1. Kevin left that one on the desk next to flash station. (t/26518789)

Replacing the battor didn't help. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the battor <-> phone battery connector.

Did you try the BattOr from build166-1 on a different phone with a different N5X cable?

With all of the issues that we are having of too low charge on the N5X, it is possible that the N5X connector is not the problem. The problem could just be that the N5X connector is not seated properly in the phone.

With this phone that we are having problems with right now, i think it is worth trying to reseat the connector on the battery and phone and see if it resolves this issue.
