after closing google search, duplicates are made in browser history

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.133 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. perform google search, click first result 
2. close google search and first result tab
3. check history, search for previous google search terms

What is the expected behavior?
should just show google result in history for today

What went wrong?
results show up in previous dates of history, even though the search was never performed previously.

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 57.0.2987.133  Channel: stable
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version: 

from what i can tell this happened in 2012 and 2014.

find enclosed a picture that can better describe the bug. this search was only performed once, on april 13th, 2017. never before that, yet the results are showing under many previous dates before this.
