nassh: sftp: support auto-resuming connections |
||
Issue descriptionif a connection dies, currently people have to recreate things themselves. it would be a lot nicer if we just initiated the reconnect ourselves if possible. for passwordless auth, this shouldn't be an issue, but if they need to enter a password, things can get tricky. to quickly recreate such a situation: - start sftp mount under CrOS - log out - log in - load Files app - mounts are still listed, but can't be used

the reproduction scenario in comment #0 no longer works after this commit: https://chromium.googlesource.com/apps/libapps/+/a0dba727cc0b484ea625e7cce605900d7c0e1f58 we explicitly mark the mount as non-persistent so it's discarded across logouts. probably have to do something more drastic like log in to the remote host and manually kill the session.

When the computer (on chromeOS for local sftp connections at least) comes back from sleep however the connection is severed and the mounts are listed but cannot be uses. Unmounting and remounting is a solution but as the description says it would make local development much more usable for it to happen automatically.
