This is working on desktop and hence likely to be fixed once we start sharing desktop heuristics with iOS code.

lindsayw@: Would it be possible to have this tested on Chrome for Android to see if autofill on this site works there? Thank you.

I am not able to reproduce the issue. I have created two accounts on the website, both account credentials are saved into my passwords list. And when try to sign in, the first account is autofilled by default, so I have to delete the username and then both the account usernames are displayed on the Keyboard accessory. I have tried both on Regular Tabs, Incognito tabs on iPhone and iPad. Can we ask the user if its still reproduced? If so, ask the user to try reproducing on New Incognito tab? Tested on iOS10.3.2, 10.3, 10.2 Device: iPhone, iPad Version: M57, 58, 60 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-xmXLQhjeKucU5UMF9zR1g5am8/view

Hi, This issue isn't to do with auto fill saving the username and password. It's purely using that username and chrome remembering you've used that username before and so when you start to type the letters it knows you've used it and pops up as a suggestion of what it could be, this works perfectly fine with the Chrome 64bit version for windows 10 but doesn't work at all on any website with the iOS version of chrome :( I have attached a pic of where the suggestion username normally is when Chrome remembers you've used this username before.

Hi, Can you please confirm you are still logged into Chrome? When I navigate to the page you are on with my username and password already saved, when I load this page my username and password is already auto-filled in for both fields. I have seen a couple of cases where only the password is filled in and in that case if I place the cursor in the username field and type the first letter of it, the suggestion for the username autofill is shown in the keyboard toolbar (the area circled in red in your above screenshot. Both username and password are auto-filled for me on Chrome for Android as well. Also, 2 other questions: - what is the exact build number you have of Chrome for iOS? - if you visit this site on desktop Chrome (while signed into chrome for the same account) does it autofill the username and password there?

Hi, Again I'm not talking about AutoFill field saving your username & password, I'm talking about when you have previously entered a username in Chrome it remembers you have used a certain username beginning with a specific letter so for mine it is S and when I carry on typing SPI it pops up spike18_06 because it recognises I have used this before, understand what I mean now? Regards, Robbie

Interestingly, I can see the suggestions in the keyboard accessory area (on screenshot). Also, just confirming that filling works both on iPhone and iPad for me (Chrome 58).

Confirming, I see the same behavior vabr does.

Hmmm that is a strange one... okay if your seeing different, maybe some default settings have been altered in the software, could you confirm as to which steps I would need to take to match your system? Robbie

My setup is/steps are: - Fresh install of chrome for iOS - Login during the first run prompt - Give time for sync to load (maybe a minute), confirm sync is up and working by checking for saved passwords, recent tabs, etc. - Navigate to helpforum.sky.com, tap Sign in - Put cursor in email field - wait a second or 2 depending on connectivity - If nothing is showing type the first letter of the email/username Results: Username is suggested in the keyboard toolbar, and if I press it the username and password are both autofilled.

Okay, but as I have previously mentioned I don't want the username and password autofilling. I just want to use the autofill of the username for what the Windows PC & iOS device remembers me currently the Windows PC remembers my username as per the pics above but iOS does NOT remember me at all which is what I don't understand at all as to why it doesn't :( I'll do a fresh install of iOS Chrome but I think it may still do the same Regards,

Did a fresh install of chrome for iOS beta and the process is still the same I get offered to save the password for my account but I don't want to do that I just want chrome to remember my username that I frequently use this feature worked on iOS in the past but hasn't for a while but it works perfectly on Windows PC so I'm rather confused as to why it doesn't work anymore, it's always going to work for you guys if you save the password so it auto fills but I don't want to save the password I just want it to recommend what username I could be wanting as I start to type that specific name when I strike the 'S' key but it doesn't work anymore on iOS why not? This is so frustrating :( Regards,

So the bug here is that we do not remember the general filled form data, not that we're not saving the password. Does that work for other sites, when a password is not involved? We should get the form autofill folks involved in this to assess whether or not this is expected for username fields.

Well as I have explained further up on this thread, when I sign into Helpforum on Sky I get the do I want to save password and I click no never but when I sign out then come back to the sign in page and just either double click in the username field or type the first letter of my username it pops up and I then select my username but of course only the username then auto fills and not the password as I don't want that saving! Now this username field that works on PC does NOT work on iOS for Chrome which is why this issue ticket thread has been opened because it used to work sometime ago maybe 2 builds back now could be longer and all of sudden this doesn't seem to work anymore just for the username field. Thanks, Robbie

I have also used this feature on other sites on PC especially and it remembers my username, but again iOS doesn't remember my usernames I've used in the past for various sites :/ Regards, Robbie

spike180687... do you have "Autofill Forms" enabled? If password autofill is declined, this should fall back to autocomplete (if "Form Autofill" is enabled) to allow for the replay of values previously entered into this field. https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/components/autofill/core/browser/autofill_manager.cc?rcl=2f0e211470e22f96aebc5357317a67ee4bc062a2&l=705 After a cursory investigation, I don't see why that's not happening on iOS.

Yes I have it enabled as you can see from the pics below, I just have save passwords turned off!
,
May 19 2017
Yet it still doesn't work even with this turned on, doesn't work on for any sites on iOS it works on PC however but my issue is with iOS no longer seems to work anymore :( this has since been taken out of iOS I believe some builds ago!

I take it with the no response, you have found the root cause and are working on a fix? Regards, Robbie

There are a number of autofill issues with iOS that we're triaging, investigating and prioritizing. This is among them. Sorry, I don't have an ETA for a fix at the moment.

I have to say that in the iOS version 61.0. that the autofill is now working so am guessing this feature has been found and added back in which is brilliant :) lets hope this doesn't walk off somewhere and be lost like last time lol Regards, Robbie

dvadym could you take a look at this passwords issue?
,

kkhorimoto@ We are currently not working on 1-off password manager bugs on iOS due to limited resources. We hope look into robustness efforts for iOS in Q4. My reading of comment #35 is that this is working now? Please let us know if that is incorrect to re-open the bug. |
