Files with non-standard JSON should not have JSON extension

Project Member Reported by mart...@martijnc.be, Apr 11 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/59.0.3063.4 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Files containing non-standard JSON (comments, ...) should not have the .json extension but something more appropriate (json5?).

What is the expected behavior?
All JSON files in the tree should contain valid JSON.

What went wrong?
Some JSON files in the tree contain invalid JSON (e.g. with non-standard comments).
