Security: Gmail bugs

Reported by rafabz...@gmail.com, Apr 10 2017

Issue description

Actually the bug is not related to Android but I couldn't find the right place to post about gmail access by desktop computer.

My email address is rafabzu.k@gmail.com. Please note that the email have a dot between U and K. But works if I try to login using rafabzuk@gmail.com.. Its clearly a mistake and the same thing happens when I send an email to rafabzuk.. It goes to rafabzu.k

I was trying to receive money because of the Vulnerability Reward Program but as I said.. I couldn't find the right form. I hope its works.

Thanks

This is a feature of gmail, not a bug. Issue 699471

This is not a security issue; it's a commonly used feature called the "GMail dot trick" and you can read more about it here: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/gmail-address-tricks

Basically, you can put dots anywhere within your email address and they are ignored for the purposes of routing mail. GMail will not permit others to register for your email address with a dot in the middle (meaning no one else can have an email address which matches yours or which is otherwise confusable with yours).
