Need to reverse talkback text for pause/resume button |
|
Issue descriptionWhen you use Talkback to navigate to the resume / pause button, the correct thing is verbalized. However, when you actually press it, the spoken feedback is not intuitive. If you press the resume button, you hear "pause", since the pause button then appears. This should be reversed -- when you press the resume button, you should hear spoken confirmation "download resumed", and when you press the pause button, you should hear "download paused".

The issue is that when we first click on the button for resuming, it says "resume", which is correct. However when we double tap it and the actual download resumes, the button icon changes and is done a re-layout. After a re-layout, since the button is still in focus, so android will read its content description again. We can make talkback speak "download resumed" when the onClick is called, but nevertheless it will speak "pause" immediately after that, which is due to the re-layout.

lpalmaro@ is there a common behavior we're supposed to take when the focused button has it's content change? I agree it sounds a bit counter intuitive. We can try to find a workaround, but I'm just curious on the common expected behavior for toggles (Shakti and I will look at some other examples in the codebase). |
