Can you elaborate here? What would you like SoM to do differently? What kinds of failures are you talking about? We currently process build and test logs looking for step failures, and use some heuristics to group them together into alerts. As long as the step reports success or failure (or timeout etc) and breaks the build, we can already alert on them.

The idea is to show a Web Notification when a failure occurs, making sure that even if the sheriff is not looking at SoM they would be aware of it.
In JavaScript, assuming the tab is open and being updated, it's as simple as calling "new Notification('title', { ... })" when a failure occurs.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. :) Sheriffs have wanted some way to make it more obvious when there are new failures. I think this would be a good way to approach this.
