onbeforeunload is not working

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/57.0.2987.110 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. creating onbeforeunload method in script
2. Want to leave the Page 
3. The alert message shows

What is the expected behavior?
Want to customize the alert and message. 

What went wrong?
Not able to change the alert type and message for chrome.

Did this work before? N/A 

Chrome version: 57.0.2987.110  Channel: n/a
OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2)
Flash Version:

This is the intended behavior in modern browsers, including Chrome, see  issue 587940 .
