Also could you measure the total CRX size of demo application? If it's more than 50-100 MB, we may want to reduce the size of demo CRX.

How can I see the CRX size?

Context:
With 701598, Kip, Setzer device specific videos which are 70MB in total are included in demo app crx.
It is not good because the crx is installed on any device including which don't load device specific videos.

re: #4. We can see the size on chrome://extension by clicking details link.

The demo app size is 91.3MB.

Even if we compress the videos, if we keep getting this kind of request, the solution doesn't scale.

I'd propose the solution to put videos on GAE and let demo app download the needed video when it's installed.

There is another difficulty with public session. The profile for public session is cleared every few idle minutes. So we cannot keep local video cache file.
For CRXs automatically installed by policy (e.g. demo CRXs), we have special cache mechanism which allows us to keep CRXs cache after cleaning public session profile.
