Emoji broken or black/white on Windows |

Issue descriptionChrome Version: 57.0.2987.133 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: Win10 Enterprise 1511 10586.839 What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Visit http://getemoji.com/ What is the expected result? Emoji render in color, in OS style What happens instead of that? Several blank boxes, some emoji in black and white. See attached This worked in earlier versions - as recently as 55.

Could it be that getemoji.com was updated to contain "newer" emoji which were previously not part of this list? The page is using the Segoe UI Emoji font, which on my version of Win10 10.0.10586 does not have glyphs for the ones showing boxes. Judging from this test case I don't think there is a regression in Chrome. I am marking this WontFix since the page in itself works as expected. Edge on the same Windows version does not show these glyphs either. However, we do have open issues for supporting a color font format across platforms for example, see issue 703332 , so that it's easier for sites to provide a full emoji font that works everywhere. |
