ChromeVox enabled in beta reads screen in stable

Project Member Reported by kolos@chromium.org, Apr 4 2017

Issue description

I am not able to provide steps that would always reproduce the problem.

The problem is the following. I have installed ChromeVox (CV) in Chrome Stable, Chrome Beta and Chrome Dev on my machine.

I disable/enable CV in various channels. I come to situation when enabling CV, say, in Beta enables CV in Stable. Sometimes, I am not able to disable CV, even if it is disable in all installed channels. I have to remove it.

We found another strange case.

If Chrome has a number of profiles and ChromeVox is enabled in one of them, ChromeVox reads the screen for other profiles as well.

Both of these are working as intended.

The first is because you have extensions synced between your profiles. If you enable an extension in one browser, it enables it across all browsers with sync enabled. The workaround is to disable syncing extensions and manually install extensions in each profile.

ChromeVox accesses Chrome via accessibility APIs, so it doesn't care about profiles. It's all just UI.
