Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.87 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to https://api.jquery.com/keypress/ 2. Press . 3. See keycode What is the expected behavior? Keycode is 110 or anything but 46 What went wrong? Able to reproduce the issue on Windows-7,Mac-10.12.3 and Linux Ubuntu-14.04 using chrome Stable version 57.0.2987.133 and canary 59.0.3063.0 with the steps mentioned in comment#0. Observed that the keycode is 46 after pressing "." This is Non-regression issue,observed from M30# 30.0.1599.0 and marking it as Untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Note:Same behavior observed in other browser (FireFox) too. Please find the attached screen cast for reference. Thanks..

I don't think it's worth investing anything here, Firefox always sets this field to 0 and Edge and Safari have the same behavior as Chrome. MDN has keyCode as being deprecated in standards. |
