Chrome Canary for Android crashes abruptly when creating new tabs

Reported by andresan...@gmail.com, Apr 3 2017

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a new normal tab in the browser (app shortcuts or anything that would trigger such action)
2.
3.

What is the expected behavior?
Create a new normal tab.

What went wrong?
The entire browser crashes abruptly without any force close dialogue box.

Crashed report ID: crash/d7e48e6c10000000

How much crashed? Whole browser

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? Yes 59.0.3050.4

Chrome version: 59.0.3057.0 Channel: canary
OS Version: 7.1.1
Flash Version:

On the same version, I had noticed that when I had more than two normal tabs (which were there *before* the update) there would be occasional force closes (dialogue box) that don't appear to kill the browser or even kill any of the tabs (this doesn't happen at all when there is one normal tab). I'm not sure if it would be related to this considering it was also introduced in the same update. If I recall correctly, it was labelled as a "native crash" by the report tool.

The issue does not affect incognito tabs at all. Incognito tabs can be created and they don't end up triggering any intermittent crashes as far as I'm aware.

An update was released (59.0.3061.0) shortly that fixes at least the tab creation issue (likely fixed the other thing as well). Feel free to close.
