This seems to reproduce for all text fields (the omnibox, for instance) not just the text field in the login screen user pod. Marking this as WAI doesn't seem out of the question. If you click on a button in the browser UI or click on something in a webpage while the system menu is open, those clicks are delivered to the intended targets. Since an open system menu doesn't steal mouse events in this way, it seems reasonable to me that it wouldn't also steal keyboard focus. oshima@ or jonross@, could this be a side effect of making the system menu non-blocking?

Yes, this is WAI. You can type password. Hitting tab will move the focus to uber tray, which removes caret on the pod. |
