I don't have any published plugin in chrome app store. I have local plugin that I use for self. Use case: I have a website eg any news site that keeping poping up latest article in their home. My script checks presence of popups with css classname at every interval. Once it finds there exists a popup I trigger a click which opens that news article in new page. Problem: It opens new tab but focus from anywhere else or other tab gets moved to this newly open'd tab which I want to control.

As I have private chrome plugin I can't share. But issue is clear: Consider there is website that opens tabs or new window automatically in few seconds with click trigger. So what will happen in that case is doesn't matter which page I am browsing my tab focus or window focus is lost and newly open'd tab gets focus. I am asking is there is way to "Focus current tab on new tab open" settings? If not, there should be one as I don't want chrome to steal focus when new tab is open'd.
