That's very strange.  First step is to check out what the settings are for that extension in preferences.

If you have a version of chrome after 59.0.3047.0, you should be able to go to chrome://prefs-internals and ctrl+f for the extension id.  Otherwise, we'll have to go a more roundabout way.

If you can find the prefs entry for it, we can see a bit about what it is, and, hopefully, where it came from.  If you can scrub it for any PII and paste the json blob here, that'd be helpful.  (Feel free to ping/email for more details on this.)

As discussed off-bug, AIs here are:
1. Remove the action icon patch from the component extension version of Office Editing.
2. Fix the localisation of the icon tool-tip / extension name.
3. Follow-up on visibility of changes to the component extension to the CrOS release managers.
