2015 Pixel doesn't always update on Stable channel

Reported by rlbr0...@gmail.com, Apr 1 2017

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 9000.91.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2924.110 Safari/537.36
Platform: 9000.91.0 (Official Build) stable-channel samus

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. -> Settings -> About Chrome OS
2. -> Check for and apply updates
3. no update found for stable channel

What is the expected behavior?
https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/2017/03/stable-channel-updates-for-chrome-os_29.html

Says a new release is available but my 2015 Pixel doesn't find it.

What went wrong?
When I see notice that a new stable release is available my Pixel seldom updates to it. It may skip releases and get the next one. Is this normal? I thought all chromebooks got an update for every new release unless they were specifically exempted.

Did this work before? N/A

Chrome version: 56.0.2924.110 Channel: stable
OS Version: 9000.91.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 24.0 r0

Is this normal behavior? Is my assumption wrong that I should get every update? (My Acer and my chromebox always seems to get every release update but not my Pixel.)

This can be closed or deleted. I missed this statement in update notice:

for all Chrome OS devices except ..., Google Chromebook Pixel (2015),...
