attach latest version of system profile for every crash

Project Member Reported by wfh@chromium.org, Mar 30 2017

Issue description

It would be nice if crashpad could attach the 'latest version' of the system profile (or perhaps arbitrary data supplied by the crashpad embedder) in every crash.

The requirements would be that the embedder would be able to push this data to crashpad as often as they like, and crashpad would provide some kind of guarantee that the latest version it had received would be attached to crashes, along with an age of the data.

Crashpad would also guarantee that on a fresh start, if there was a crash, the last known data would be attached (along with age). This would mean some kind of persistence that crashpad would have to manage.

The concrete use-case here would be this would allow the system profile to be always present for all types of crashes, rather than just browser crashes.

There are upcoming changes in stability and metrics reporting that relate here - it sounds like the system profile will get pushed out to the browser's UMA persistent metrics stash. This is a great plan, as with the Crashpad extensibility we'll be able to snarf an up to date system profile from there on crash.
