Password prompt makes links stop working

Reported by jimmyeba...@gmail.com, Mar 30 2017

Issue description

Chrome Version: 56.0.2924.87
Chrome OS Version: Mac OS X
Chrome OS Platform: Apple iMac
Network info:

Steps To Reproduce:
(1) Login to a website to get chrome to ask if you want to save your password
(2) Ignore the prompt and try clicking on the page
(3) None of the links are responsive for a few seconds. You can double-click to make the links work. Eventually things return to normal. If you don't ignore the password pop-up everything works as expected.

Expected Result:

Should be able to click links after ignoring the prompt to save my username/password.

Actual Result:

None of the links on the page respond after ignoring the save username/password prompt.

How frequently does this problem reproduce? Always

What is the impact to the user, and is there a workaround? If so, what is
it?

User can't click any links on the page. You can either answer the password prompt or double click the links. You can bring the prompt back up by clicking on the key icon on the right side of the address bar. Answering the prompt there will make the page work normally.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screen shot or
log if possible.
