I got persistent "Unable to upload the data to storage." errors while trying to print a locally-saved PDF to protontorpedo-color using Google Cloud Print this morning. At first I thought it was due to the PDF being password-protected, but the problems persisted even after saving a subset of the pages to their own unprotected PDF. When I clicked Print, the dialog would hang for ~30 seconds before displaying the error.
I was able to print the same document to the same printer from Linux using the "lpr" command. Now, several hours later, I was also able to print the first page of https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040es.pdf to the same printer via GCP without any problems.
I don't see any relevant errors in my user log besides the following:
[604:604:0329/104544.319517:ERROR:CONSOLE(1060)] "Google Cloud Print Error: (416) Unable to upload the data to storage.", source: chrome://print/print_preview.js (1060)
[604:604:0329/105226.451578:ERROR:CONSOLE(1060)] "Google Cloud Print Error: (416) Unable to upload the data to storage.", source: chrome://print/print_preview.js (1060)
I see a similar error reported in a mailing list thread several days ago, but there are no replies: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/gcp-developers/nfhAHs1uknw
